TAP Launches Direct London–Porto Flights

TAP Air Portugal has announced a new route linking London City Airport and Porto (OPO), launching on March 25. The service will operate six times weekly and is intended to strengthen connections between the UK capital and Portugal’s northern coast.

Flights from Porto will depart at 12:05 p.m. and arrive at London City at 2:20 p.m. The return service will leave London City at 2:50 p.m., touching down in Porto at 5:10 p.m. TAP will operate the route using its Embraer 190 aircraft.

This new Porto–London City link complements the twice-daily flights that TAP introduced between London City and Lisbon (LIS) last October, expanding the carrier’s presence at the centrally located London airport.

In addition to the London City–Porto service, TAP will resume several routes that were suspended in 2016, restoring direct connections from Porto to Milan (MXP) and Barcelona (BCN). The airline will also reestablish service from Porto to Ponta Delgada (PDL) in the Azores, improving access to the islands.

Beyond Porto, TAP is adding new capacity from Lisbon. Starting June 10, the airline will launch a route from Lisbon to Florence (FLR) with 10 weekly flights, providing more options for travelers between Portugal and Tuscany.

On long-haul routes, TAP plans to increase frequencies to key destinations in the Americas. The carrier will add four weekly flights to São Paulo (GRU) and one additional weekly frequency to Toronto (YYZ), boosting connectivity between Portugal, Brazil and Canada.

These network changes reflect TAP’s broader strategy to expand both short-haul European links and long-haul services, offering passengers improved schedules and more direct options across its route map.
