Espresso Breaks in Miami: Top Cafés for a Perfect Shot

Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami has added a distinctive new amenity to its comprehensive meeting services. Alongside thoughtfully designed event spaces, a dedicated team of meeting and event planners, chef-driven menus, modern audiovisual equipment and experiential perks such as yacht excursions, the hotel now offers groups a mid-afternoon Cuban colada to refresh and delight attendees.

Available Monday through Friday in the meeting foyer on the 14th floor from 3:05–3:20 p.m., the complimentary espresso shot is prepared in the traditional Cuban style. Finely ground coffee and sugar are combined and stirred to produce a characteristic layer of foam, or espumita, that rests atop the coffee and adds a sweet, silky finish to the small but potent beverage.

“The Cuban ritual of an afternoon espresso is inherently social,” said Eric Jellson, area director of sales and marketing at EPIC. “In Miami, it’s common to see relatives, longtime friends and familiar local faces gathered in Cuban cafés sharing a colado or cafecito. Providing this experience for our group guests brings an authentic taste of the city into their meeting day.”

EPIC Hotel’s meeting and event facilities are sizable and versatile, featuring two executive boardrooms, a grand ballroom, and a pool deck with views of Biscayne Bay. Private cabanas and flexible breakout rooms accommodate a range of group sizes and formats, while a 24-hour business center offers laptop stations and printing services to support planners and attendees. Combined with the new Cuban colada offering, these amenities aim to make meetings at EPIC both productive and memorably local.
