Southwest Airlines has partnered with iHeartRadio to offer free digital music and live streaming radio to passengers via the airline’s in-flight entertainment portal.
With iHeartRadio onboard, travelers can stream stations that span nearly every music genre or build custom stations tailored to their favorite artists and songs. The service also includes curated in-flight stations designed for specific needs—such as programming for children or playlists created to combat boredom during flights.
This amenity is available at no cost through the onboard entertainment portal or on personal devices on more than 690 WiFi-equipped aircraft, providing a simple way for customers to enjoy music and radio while traveling.
“Our customers and employees are passionate about music,” said Ryan Green, vice president and chief marketing officer of Southwest Airlines. “For Southwest, music is part of a broader effort to enhance the travel experience. Our partnership with iHeartRadio helps create a soundtrack for our customers’ journeys and connects them to what matters in their lives.”
“We continue to expand iHeartRadio’s distribution to be available wherever our listeners are and on the products and services they use most,” added Michele Laven, president of strategic partnerships at iHeartMedia. “We’re proud to team up with Southwest Airlines to bring the music, stations and on-air personalities people enjoy inflight, entertaining listeners and Southwest passengers as they travel.”
