With the opening of its newest terminal, the PHX Sky Train station at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport now provides a direct link between Valley Metro Rail, Sky Harbor’s East Economy Parking, and all airport terminals. Terminal 3 connects to Terminal 2 via an enclosed walkway; there is no Terminal 1 at Phoenix Sky Harbor.
The new connection makes public transportation more accessible for travelers, offering a convenient, no-cost transfer between the airport and downtown Phoenix. City leaders highlighted the importance of the link for visitors and residents alike, noting its benefit for large events and daily commuting.
The Terminal 3 PHX Sky Train station has been awarded Silver LEED certification for its environmentally responsible design. The PHX Sky Train runs seven days a week, 365 days a year, and is free to passengers, providing reliable, continuous service to support airport access and regional transit integration.
By directly connecting light rail service, economy parking, and all terminals, the system reduces the need for private vehicle trips and simplifies transfers for arriving and departing passengers. The covered walkway between Terminals 2 and 3 improves pedestrian flow and helps travelers move smoothly with luggage and through security-sensitive areas.
Passengers using the PHX Sky Train can expect frequent departures and straightforward wayfinding between the airport complex and Valley Metro Rail. The integration supports sustainable travel choices and contributes to reducing congestion around the airport, while improving the overall passenger experience for daily travelers and visitors to the Phoenix metro area.
