Houston was buzzing as thousands of travel industry professionals gathered for the 2010 National Business Travel Association (NBTA) convention in August. As part of the event, Global Traveler continued its tradition by hosting the fifth annual NBTA cocktail reception.
Over 100 guests joined Global Traveler to toast a successful convention at Block 7 Wine Company, a stylish wine bar, restaurant and shop. Attendees mingled in the restaurant’s Gallery, surrounded by artwork, while enjoying an eclectic menu that included wild boar, quail legs, assorted sliders, crab cakes, spring rolls, ceviche, gazpacho and Key lime tarts. A selection of red and white wines complemented the dishes, and the lively sounds of The Bourbon Street Band provided a festive backdrop.
“Hosting our annual NBTA cocktail reception is a tradition we are proud of,” said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO of Global Traveler. “Each year the travel industry faces new challenges. NBTA brings together many of the best minds in the field, and the event is a celebration of the future of business travel. Being part of it makes us proud, and we look forward to next year’s gathering in Denver.”
The 2010 event coincided with the 42nd annual NBTA convention, which attracted more than 6,000 representatives from hotels, airlines, travel-related products and programs, publications and corporate travel departments.
