Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort has completed the first phase of a resort-wide refresh, the most extensive renovation since the property opened more than 30 years ago. Set on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, phase one introduces a revitalized Botero Lounge; fully redesigned Napua rooms, suites and private lounges; and refreshed dining venues including the ‘Ikena brunch restaurant and Loulu grab-and-go market. A renovated spa and wellness experience is scheduled to open in 2023.

Botero Lounge
The new Botero Lounge showcases selections from the resort’s 900-piece outdoor art collection alongside curated food and drink offerings. Guests can enjoy fresh sushi prepared live and specialty cocktails in a relaxed, art-forward setting. The lounge will also host The Art of … series, a program of guest-focused workshops led by local and visiting experts.
Napua Tower
Napua Tower serves as an exclusive enclave of rooms and suites within the resort. The redesign, led by Nina Chiappa Interiors, draws on an abstracted Hawaiian aesthetic that blends contemporary comfort with island sensibility. Napua guests benefit from a private concierge and access to the Napua Lounge, which provides curated food, beverages and daily activities tailored to this tier of accommodations.

‘Ikena and Loulu
‘Ikena has been refreshed to emphasize a relaxed, flavorful brunch experience. Each Saturday the restaurant will feature a rosé brunch collaboration with La Fête du Rosé, a premium rosé label. Sample menu highlights include Maui Honey Fried Chicken and Waffles and Eggs Benedict with Kona Crab Cake, among other locally inspired dishes.
Loulu, the resort’s café-market concept, focuses on healthful and wellness-driven options. Guests can grab artisanal pizzas, açai bowls, local coffee and a selection of fresh snacks and beverages designed for convenience without sacrificing quality.
With phase one complete, Grand Wailea continues work on remaining elements of the property refresh, including the spa and expanded wellness offerings, to deliver a refreshed resort experience that honors Hawaiian culture and hospitality while elevating modern luxury.
