Emirates Debuts New First Class in November — What to Expect

Emirates has confirmed it will unveil a new first-class suite at the Dubai Airshow in November.

The new product, which debuts on the airline’s latest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, will feature a 1-1-1 configuration with six total suites in the cabin. This is a change from the current 777 first-class layout, which uses a 1-2-1 configuration with eight suites.

In addition to the redesigned first class, Emirates says the new 777s will include updated business- and economy-class cabins. The airline has not yet announced which routes will receive the new aircraft, saying those deployment plans will be revealed at a later date.

“Our products and services across cabin classes are continually improved and enhanced. But what our customers will see on Emirates’ new 777s starting from November, will be a much bigger revamp that takes our onboard experience to the next level,” said Tim Clark, president, Emirates. “All cabins will sport a totally fresh new look. We are excited to showcase the results of years of planning and development invested into our new first class offering, and our overall Emirates 777 experience. More details will follow, watch this space.”

At this time, Emirates has not indicated whether the new first-class suite or the cabin updates will be retrofitted across its existing Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets, or if they will be limited to the incoming 777-300ER deliveries. The airline’s announcement leaves open the possibility that the design could be rolled out more widely in the future, pending operational and commercial decisions.

The move signals a notable shift in Emirates’ premium product strategy by reducing the number of first-class suites per aircraft while promising a broader cabin refresh. Passengers and industry observers will be watching for further details at the Dubai Airshow and in subsequent communications from the carrier.
