Starwood Expands in Italy: New Hotels, Locations & Dates

Starwood Hotels & Resorts will expand its Luxury Collection in Italy this autumn with the opening of Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan. Reopening in November after an extensive renovation, the hotel occupies a prominent position on Piazza Duca d’Aosta and will offer 235 guestrooms and suites designed to blend contemporary comforts with Milanese elegance.

The property will feature a signature restaurant showcasing refined cuisine, a rooftop bar with panoramic views over the city, a relaxed lounge bar and a dedicated cigar room. Wellness amenities will include a spa offering treatments and relaxation areas, an indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness center. For meetings and events, the hotel will provide two ballrooms, six meeting rooms and a business center to accommodate both social and corporate gatherings.

The reopening of Excelsior Hotel Gallia strengthens Starwood’s presence in Italy, where the company currently operates 21 hotels. Six of those properties are part of The Luxury Collection, and the Milan opening adds a notable landmark to that roster, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to luxury hospitality in key Italian destinations.

Guests at Excelsior Hotel Gallia can expect thoughtful service, classic architectural details restored alongside modern design elements, and facilities aimed at both leisure and business travelers. With its central location near transport hubs and Milan’s cultural attractions, the hotel is positioned to serve international visitors as well as local guests seeking an elevated stay in the city.
