This September, a new luxury lifestyle hotel arrives in Savannah, Georgia. LEFT LANE’s latest brand debut transforms the city’s 114-year-old Manger Building into a private clubhouse where guests can relax, dine, drink, play and connect. The property follows LEFT LANE’s acclaimed Hotel Bardo and brings a fresh, distinctive hospitality experience to downtown Savannah.

Recess Hotel & Club Savannah will be centered on a “retro futurist” aesthetic that channels nostalgia and pop-culture references in a playful, sophisticated way. The hotel spans 221 guestrooms, including 23 suites and imaginative Rumpus Rooms. Each Rumpus Room is designed as a lively social hub on its floor, stocked with custom vending units, vintage-style board games inspired by the 1970s and 1980s, and other amenity touches intended to spark social interaction and fun.

Guestrooms emphasize natural materials, breathable organic linens and thoughtfully selected Corpus Naturals bath amenities to encourage rest and relaxation. Every room is appointed with a custom throw designed by local artist and SCAD graduate Juliana Lupacchino (JULU). The 10th-floor suites offer elevated living with 17-foot ceilings, dramatic arched windows and sweeping panoramic views of the city. Guests who wish to take a piece of the hotel home can purchase the JULU throw at the on-site retail boutique, Shop Recess.

The hotel features a variety of dining and beverage venues tailored to different moods and occasions. Le Flâneur is a French brasserie that highlights the property’s original mosaic flooring and serves a menu of crepes, tartines, oysters, steak frites and classic cocktails. Kilter, a retro‑chic rooftop bar on the 12th floor, will claim Savannah’s highest rooftop pool and offer refreshing cocktails alongside Asian-inspired small plates and sushi. The Lobby Bar is conceived as a living-room style lounge with woven custom chandeliers, tiled columns and verdant greenery, providing a relaxed place to meet. For grab-and-go options, The Servery channels a Japanese automat tradition with a takeout window presenting smoothies, juices, pastries, salads and sandwiches suitable for breakfast and lunch.

LEFT LANE’s wellness and spa concept, Saltgrass, is reimagined within the hotel as a holistic wellness destination. The fitness area is circuit-based around a central turf zone for functional training and will include TRX stations, boxing bags and a calendar of private sessions. The wellness space also features immersive recovery and relaxation amenities, including a bioharmony lounge, sound temple and thermal facilities such as steam rooms, saunas and cold plunges designed to support recovery and wellbeing.

Recess Hotel & Club Savannah offers extensive meeting and event facilities to accommodate a range of gatherings. The property includes a 6,500-square-foot, two-story event hall—the only new construction on site—beginning with the first-floor Annex Ballroom. That space opens to an outdoor area overlooking Johnson Square and has its own street-side entrance for weddings and conferences of up to 250 guests. Above it, the second-floor Conservatory draws inspiration from Savannah’s famed garden culture, featuring abundant, movable greenery to create flexible event settings. A rooftop lawn provides additional panoramic views and an extra 830 square feet of adaptable event space for smaller ceremonies, receptions or social events.

At the heart of the hotel is Club Recess, a members-only social club occupying 5,500 square feet on the second floor. The club is configured with libraries, studios, lounges, meeting rooms, communal workspaces and a conversation pit designed to encourage discussion, creativity and networking. Membership perks include a complimentary photoshoot session that provides a professional headshot, and a lively social calendar with weekly game nights, bi-weekly Friday happy hours and a lineup of local live music and DJ sets on weekends.
