Bid for Seat Upgrades on airberlin: How to Get Upgraded Flights

airberlin now offers auctions for business-class upgrades on long-haul flights through its “airberlin exquisite” program. Guests can place bids for an upgrade up to 72 hours before departure at airberlin.com/upgrade. When an auction is available for a passenger’s flight, they may submit a bid and will be informed at least 12 hours before departure whether their bid was successful.

Winning an upgrade grants access to all the benefits of airberlin’s redesigned business-class cabin. These include priority check-in and boarding, lounge access, and a premium onboard experience. The business cabin offers full-flat seats with enhanced privacy and direct aisle access, an advanced in-flight entertainment system, and gourmet meals curated by Sansibar.

“With this new service, we are offering guests the opportunity to treat themselves to an exclusive flight experience in Business Class on the spur of the moment,” said Jacob Fischer, vice president, distribution, airberlin. “Guests can decide how much they are prepared to pay. Then a decision is made among the bids submitted as to who will travel in Business Class.”

airberlin operates non-stop flights from Chicago, Ft. Myers, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, and is a member of the oneworld alliance.
