Italian-Style Fuel Economy: Tips for Smarter, More Efficient Driving

Hertz has expanded its Selezione Italia—its curated Italian collection of cars—with a striking addition: an electric remake of the 1960s Fiat 500 Spiaggina. This modern interpretation preserves the beloved retro silhouette while introducing efficient electric propulsion and contemporary sustainable features, offering travelers a distinctive way to experience Italy behind the wheel.

Developed in collaboration with Garage Italia, the Fiat 500 Jolly Spiaggina Icon-e will become an exclusive option within Hertz Italy’s fleet. The redesign blends classic Italian styling with playful, modern touches: a convertible top, vivid color options, hand-woven seat finishes, updated mirrors and other bespoke vintage-inspired details, all reimagined for an electric platform.

Available from early July, the new Icon-e joins a lineup of Italian models that balance timeless design and modern performance. Hertz Italy emphasizes both style and environmental responsibility by offering iconic cars adapted for today’s eco-conscious drivers.

The Selezione Italia collection highlights Italian automotive craftsmanship and includes a variety of models to suit different tastes, from sporty compacts to luxury sedans and SUVs. The primary lineup features:

  • Abarth 595 Competizione e Turismo
  • Abarth 124 Spider
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce
  • Alfa Romeo 4C

  • Fiat 500 Jolly “Spiaggina” Icon-e by Garage Italia

By combining classic Italian aesthetics with electric mobility, Hertz Italy’s Selezione Italia aims to offer travelers a memorable, responsible driving experience.
