Arrival/Check-In: I arrived at Taj Dubai shortly after midnight following a long flight from New York. A welcoming doorman greeted me as I entered a lively lobby. At the front desk I was invited to sit at an open check-in station while the attendant reviewed my reservation. I was offered a cold towel and a refreshing tea, which was a pleasant welcome after travel. Within minutes staff escorted me to the elevators and up to my floor. The check-in was efficient and professional—exactly what you want after a long-haul journey.
Guest Quarters: I stayed in a luxury room with a clear view of the Burj Khalifa. The room’s generous size and thoughtful layout impressed me immediately. To the right of the entrance was a dedicated luggage and closet area that made unpacking easy and kept clothing organized. The bathroom featured a clean, elegant design with a large vanity, a full wall mirror plus a magnified mirror, and double sink space. The separate bathtub was ideal for a relaxing soak, and the separate shower stall offered a powerful rainfall showerhead. A large window behind the tub opens the bathroom to the bedroom and lets in natural light during the day. In the bedroom, the view of downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa is especially striking at night. The king-sized bed was comfortable, positioned to face a large wall-mounted flat-screen television. Bedside tables include power outlets and convenient lighting controls. The desk area offered ample workspace with accessible outlets for a business traveler. Although I had an international adapter, the room’s outlets accommodated my devices without needing it.
Services/Amenities: Dining at the hotel was a highlight. Bombay Brasserie serves excellent Indian-inspired cuisine; I enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the open kitchen. My server guided me through the menu and recommended several traditional favorites, making the meal both approachable and memorable. I also had lunch at Byzantium Lounge, which is well suited for afternoon tea, coffee, light snacks and sandwiches. My colleague and I ate quickly before meetings and appreciated the view from the mezzanine overlooking the elegant lobby.
Taj Dubai provides several ways to relax and recharge. The pool area features an infinity waterfall and a swim-up bar; staff suggested visiting between morning and early afternoon for the best sunlight. Adjacent to the pool is the Jiva Spa, where I enjoyed a restorative treatment. The spa team explained the options and helped me choose a treatment tailored to my needs. The spa experience reflected the hotel’s commitment to attentive, high-quality service.
The Experience: Overall, the combination of attentive staff, comfortable accommodations, diverse dining and a well-appointed spa made for a thoroughly satisfying stay. The hotel’s convenient location and comprehensive amenities suit business and leisure travelers alike—solo guests, families or couples. I would recommend Taj Dubai and would gladly return for another stay.
