Last month, Radisson hotel brands announced a commitment to support the Global FoodBanking Network and Feeding America by donating at least one million meals annually through its No Room for Hunger program.
The company is focusing on reducing hunger both in the United States and internationally. Food insecurity is linked to poorer health outcomes across a person’s lifetime, and nearly 800 million people worldwide face hunger today.
“Radisson believes in making simple connections—with our guests, our team members and within our community. By becoming stewards in the fight against hunger, it gives us the opportunity to take care of those in need,” said Roger Chacko, chief marketing and branding officer of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “We are excited to make this commitment and partner with two outstanding organizations, the Global FoodBanking Network and Feeding America. We will support the cause in a variety of ways, from monetary donations and brand-level marketing activations to employee volunteer activities and guest participation in food drives across the Radisson portfolio.”
According to USDA data, nearly one in eight people in the United States face food insecurity. To address this, Radisson plans to host annual food drives, engage with local food banks and raise awareness through staff meetings and events.
“Feeding America is excited to be part of Radisson’s new initiative to fight hunger domestically and around the world,” said Nancy Curby, interim senior vice president of development at Feeding America. “Thanks to partners like Radisson, we are able to provide food and groceries to 46 million Americans.”
