W Hotel Brand Debuts in Panama: What Travelers Can Expect

The first W property in Central America opened last week: W Panama, situated within the 50-story Evolution Tower. This new hotel introduces the W Hotels signature eclectic design to Panama City while honoring the nation’s history, culture and coastal setting.

W Panama blends contemporary design with local influences. Indigenous patterns, tactile material contrasts and bold color choices appear throughout public spaces and guestrooms. A striking design element is the placement of five graffiti-painted shipping containers integrated into the hotel’s lobby, pool deck and destination bar, creating a playful, urban atmosphere that nods to the city’s maritime heritage.

Guest rooms showcase regionally inspired accents such as handmade mola fabrics and large-scale murals, along with modern touches like floor-to-ceiling mirrors and curated furnishings. The hotel has 203 rooms, including 28 suites, many offering sweeping views of the bay and the Panama Canal. The presidential Extreme Wow Suite provides experiential features—such as a DJ booth and a built-in foosball table—designed for entertaining and high-energy gatherings.

The hotel entrance is uniquely positioned on the 15th floor of the skyscraper, giving guests an elevated arrival experience. Dining options on site include two signature outlets: Moró, which focuses on comforting local dishes prepared with contemporary techniques, and La Cajita, a 24/7 concept inspired by food-truck service and informal, flavorful street fare. Together they reflect the hotel’s emphasis on approachable, locally rooted culinary offerings.

For wellness and meetings, W Panama offers a 3,500-square-foot fitness center and spa that cater to both active travelers and guests seeking relaxation. The property also features approximately 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space suitable for conferences, social events and destination gatherings, supporting the hotel’s role as a hub for both business and leisure.
