Virgin Hotels Chicago has opened Cerise, a new rooftop bar and lounge on the hotel’s 26th floor. Cerise is the hotel’s fifth dining and drinking venue, joining The Commons Club, Miss Ricky’s Two Zero Three and the 24-hour in-room dining service.
Designed in collaboration with Italian designer Paola Navone, Cerise presents a playful, whimsical aesthetic that complements expansive views of Chicago’s skyline. The rooftop features a terrace that wraps around three sides of the building and includes two bars and large, plush seating areas. These design elements create comfortable indoor-outdoor spaces that showcase the city’s historic architecture.
The menu at Cerise draws inspiration from Izakaya-style small plates, offering a range of salty, spicy, crunchy and savory dishes meant for sharing. Guests can choose from selections such as oysters, Japanese chicken wings and shrimp dumplings, alongside a beverage program featuring beer, wine and a summer-style cocktail list tailored for rooftop service.
Raul Leal, CEO of Virgin Hotels, commented on the opening: “We’ve been anticipating the opening of Cerise since we welcomed our first guests in January, and now that Chicago has thawed out, it’s time to unveil the cherry on top. Cerise isn’t like any other Chicago rooftop; the surprising design fuels you with curiosity and imagination and leaves you wanting to explore more. The views, the entertainment and the summer-style cocktail menu will make Cerise the most sought-after rooftop spot in Chicago.”
With its combination of inventive design, panoramic views and a convivial menu designed for sharing, Cerise aims to become a standout destination for both hotel guests and local visitors seeking a distinctive rooftop experience in the heart of the city.
