Just because Riyadh lies in the heart of the desert doesn’t mean you can’t play in the snow there. Snow World, one of the city’s most unusual attractions, recreates an Arctic environment for people who rarely have the chance to build snowmen or ride inner tubes down snowy slopes.
Visitors are provided with heavy jackets, insulated boots and snow-friendly footwear, then invited to explore a frozen landscape. They stroll past model Swiss chalets and illuminated ice palaces, all lit with bright neon accents. Along the way, guests encounter realistic displays of penguins and polar bears amid snowbanks, frosted pine trees and icicles.
In one striking exhibit, stacked blocks of ice form pyramid-like structures — a playful reminder that this winter scene sits in the middle of the desert. Situated on King Abdullah Street in the Al Mugharazat district, Snow World offers a refreshing contrast to sand dunes and a memorable, cool experience for residents and visitors alike.
