The Pinnacle Kigali Opens in Rwanda: Luxury Destination Unveiled

In Rwanda, The Pinnacle Kigali has opened its doors to international visitors. Perched on the tranquil slopes of Rebero Hills, this nine-room ultra-luxury retreat introduces a refined option for travelers to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. Independently owned by Rwandan entrepreneur Sheila Kyarisiima, The Pinnacle Kigali combines contemporary African design with authentic local touches to create an intimate, elegant stay.

Positioned as a peaceful urban retreat, The Pinnacle offers an ideal stop before or after journeys into Rwanda’s wild interior, including visits to the country’s renowned gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Located roughly six miles from Kigali International Airport, the property provides sweeping views across the city’s green hills and a calm atmosphere distinct from the urban bustle. The hotel also aims to encourage visitors to spend more time in Kigali to experience its dynamic culinary and arts scenes, which rank among the most vibrant in East Africa.

“The Pinnacle is an expression of what modern African luxury can be,” said Kyarisiima, founder and owner of The Pinnacle Kigali. “It is about creating a place that feels global but is grounded in Rwanda’s warmth, creativity, and grace. Every element, from design to service, is guided by that balance.”

Each guestroom is individually designed and features bespoke furnishings, deep-soaking tubs, carefully considered lighting and curated pan-African art. Despite the hotel’s intimate scale, amenities are extensive: a rooftop bar and restaurant with panoramic city views, a saltwater infinity pool, a full-service spa and wellness center, and a modern fitness facility. For entertainment and relaxation, guests can enjoy a 21-seat Dolby Atmos private cinema, a four-lane bowling alley, a games lounge and a quiet library.

The Pinnacle’s concierge coordinates airport transfers and city excursions using the property’s fleet of fully electric vehicles. Sustainability is central to the hotel’s operations: solar power systems, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling and on-site water purification reduce environmental impact and help eliminate single-use plastics. A kitchen garden supplies fresh produce to the restaurants, while composting and waste-reduction practices further support the hotel’s eco-conscious approach.

Dining plays a focal role at The Pinnacle, with four restaurants presenting Afro-Asian fusion, pan-European and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and teppanyaki cuisine. An extensive wine cellar of more than 1,000 bottles complements the menus, while dedicated Champagne and whiskey lounges offer intimate settings for private conversation and celebration.

For guests traveling to or from the gorilla highlands, The Pinnacle offers a Departure Amenity that grants full access to hotel facilities on the day of departure at no extra charge. Designed for travelers awaiting international flights, the amenity provides space to refresh, dine, or relax in the spa and lounges, extending the property’s hospitality through the final hours of a visit without requiring a separate day room.

Each stay includes a suite of personalized services, such as VIP airport meet-and-greet and expedited clearance, private transfers, and complimentary wellness treatments: a 30-minute massage per guest with a room reservation or a 60-minute massage per guest with a suite reservation. Additional conveniences like laundry and post-trek shoe care are included to simplify guests’ journeys.

Reservations for 2026 are available through the hotel’s booking channels.
