Sydney Plant-Based High Tea: Top Vegan Afternoon Tea Spots

Enjoy a botanical twist on high tea at Ovolo Woolloomooloo’s Alibi cocktail bar in Sydney. The inventive menu is crafted in collaboration with plant-based pioneer Matthew Kenney and Alibi’s head chef Michael Nicolaou, and can be paired with Perrier-Jouët Champagne for an elevated experience.

The afternoon tea offers a balanced selection of sweet and savory bites. Signature sweets include a lemon meringue tart on sable and a mixed-berry cheesecake topped with strawberry compote. Savory options showcase seasonal produce and bold flavors, such as forest mushrooms on toast finished with wasabi cream and a baby quiche made with vegan cream cheese.

Beverage highlights lean into botanical flavors. Creative cocktails include a kaffir lime mule made with house-made ginger beer, an Earl Grey Sour, and an Ovolo classic Bellini available in raspberry, apricot, peach, or lavender variations. Guests can also choose from an array of sparkling wines and champagnes to accompany the food.

The high tea is offered in five two-hour sessions throughout the week, with several package options to suit different tastes. Choices include a glass of sparkling rosé with free-flowing tea and coffee, free-flowing Bandini Prosecco with tea and coffee, free-flowing Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut with tea and coffee, or a package that includes a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Blason rosé for two plus tea and coffee. Prices vary depending on the chosen package.
