Skydeck Chicago: Experience the Ledge, Views & City Skyline

SkyDeck Chicago now offers a guided experience called Street to Sky Guided Tours, a 90-minute introduction to the highlights of Chicago. The attraction was updated during a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2021 and presents an engaging, streamlined way to explore the city’s history, neighborhoods and skyline.

The Street to Sky Guided Tour begins at the lower level of Willis Tower in a new interactive museum space where a knowledgeable guide leads guests through Chicago’s story. The guided portion covers key moments in the city’s past, including the Great Chicago Fire, and highlights cultural touchpoints that shaped its neighborhoods.

After the museum segment, guests board an interactive mock L train to learn about the city’s distinct communities and transportation history. The experience includes hands-on moments such as trying out a mock Second City stage, offering a playful peek at Chicago’s comedy legacy.

From there, the tour continues with expedited elevator access to SkyDeck’s 103rd-floor observation deck. The package includes fast-track entry to The Ledge, the glass-box extensions that project 1,353 feet above the streets below and deliver dramatic panoramic views. Each guest also receives a keepsake photo taken during their visit to The Ledge.
