Japan Airlines is upgrading the sleep experience in its international first-class cabins.
In response to passenger feedback, the airline is introducing airweave mattresses and pillows in the JAL Sky Suite 777 first-class cabin. This sleep system, already available on some business-class routes, features an airweave dual-mode mattress with one soft side and one firm side to suit different sleeping preferences.
The new mattress is currently offered on flights between Tokyo (NRT) and London (LHR), New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX). Service will expand soon to include flights between Tokyo and Chicago (ORD) as well as Paris (CDG).
Passengers can expect improved comfort and rest thanks to the layered construction of the mattress and the dedicated first-class pillows, designed to provide better spinal support and reduce stiffness on long-haul journeys.
This enhancement complements other first-class amenities on JAL Sky Suite 777, such as spacious seating, attentive onboard service and refined bedding options, all aimed at delivering a more restful and luxurious travel experience.
As airlines continue to prioritize passenger comfort, JAL’s adoption of adjustable mattresses in first class reflects a broader trend toward personalized in-flight rest solutions. The dual-mode mattress allows travelers to choose firmness based on personal preference or the type of sleep they want to achieve during their flight.
Customers booking first class on the listed routes should find the new sleep set included with the cabin bedding. Travelers interested in confirming availability on a specific flight are advised to check with Japan Airlines when booking, as rollout timing may vary by route and aircraft.
By enhancing bedding quality and offering adaptable mattress options, Japan Airlines aims to make long-haul travel more restorative and comfortable, helping passengers arrive at their destination better rested.
