Shaolin Monks Share Timeless Life Lessons at an Irish Spa

While Monart Spa in Enniscorthy — not far from Waterford and Wexford in Ireland’s Southeast — already captivates with 18th-century Georgian elegance, its spa experience has become even more impressive. Through Dec. 15, the Shaolin Escape at Monart features instruction from Shaolin Master Haibo and Master Xu, offering guided meditation and movement practices designed to reduce stress, support overall health, improve breathing, release tension and harmonize body and mind. Optional sessions in T’ai Chi, Kung Fu, Qi-Gong and meditation are also available for guests seeking a deeper practice.

The package includes two nights’ accommodation with breakfast each morning, one evening meal, and unlimited access to one of the country’s most comprehensive thermal suites. Facilities include indoor and outdoor saunas, a Kneipp cure pool, aromatic steam room, salt grotto, mud chamber, dry flotation area, hydrotherapy pool, caldarium and a samarium with mood lighting and steam infusion. The Shaolin theme extends to a signature Warrior Massage, and guests can relax afterward in the in-wall relaxation loungers, designed for curling up and contemplation.

Monart’s beautifully appointed guestrooms and tranquil gardens create an ideal setting for a restorative break. For those who prefer activity, a range of options is close by. On the former Hall-Dare Estate, the Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club features a 7,000-yard course designed by Jeff Howes. Guests can also play at the nearby 18-hole Enniscorthy Golf Club, situated close to the estate.

With its combination of historic charm, extensive spa facilities and mindful movement programming, the Shaolin Escape at Monart provides a balanced retreat for anyone seeking relaxation, physical renewal and mental clarity.
