SkyTeam opened a new airport lounge at Vancouver International Airport last month. This is SkyTeam’s seventh branded lounge worldwide and its first location in the Americas. The lounge is situated next to gate 53 in the international terminal’s new Duty Free area.
Occupying 528 square meters, the lounge features two distinct wings, floor-to-ceiling windows and seating for up to 128 visitors. Facilities include private shower suites, a dedicated business area and a comfortable TV lounge for relaxation before departure.
The food and beverage offering reflects local flavours and international choices. Guests can enjoy a noodle bar, a buffet that includes West Coast smoked salmon, craft beers from regional microbreweries and wines sourced from nearby wineries.
Access to the Vancouver lounge is available to SkyTeam Elite Plus members and to passengers travelling in business or first class on SkyTeam member carriers. This new location joins SkyTeam lounges already operating in Dubai (DXB), London (LHR), Hong Kong (HKG), Sydney (SYD), Istanbul (IST) and Beijing (PEK).
“Vancouver is a key SkyTeam gateway between the rest of Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe. A shared lounge enables our members to offer an elevated airport experience to their top customers, while strengthening our brand in the market,” said Perry Cantarutti, CEO of SkyTeam.
The lounge’s combination of modern design, regional culinary options and practical amenities aims to enhance the pre-flight experience for business and premium travellers. With comfortable seating, work-friendly zones and refreshment choices that showcase local producers, the facility is designed to serve both short transit stays and longer pre-departure periods.
For travellers seeking convenience, the lounge location near gate 53 places it within easy reach of many international departures, while the layout—split into separate wings—helps create quieter zones alongside social and dining spaces. The inclusion of showers and business facilities responds to the needs of passengers arriving from long-haul flights or preparing for connecting services.
By adding Vancouver to its network, SkyTeam expands its branded-lounge footprint in a market that connects major regions of the world. The airline alliance highlights the lounge as part of ongoing efforts to provide consistent, high-quality airport services for loyalty members and premium cabin customers across its global route network.
