San Clemente Palace Venice Joins Kempinski Hotels Collection

The San Clemente Palace Hotel, situated on a private island in the Venetian lagoon, has joined the Kempinski Hotels portfolio, with Kempinski assuming management from property owner Permak Investments S.R.L.

Located just minutes from St. Mark’s Square on the 17-acre San Clemente Island, the hotel occupies a collection of historic monastery buildings, landscaped gardens and a church, offering guests an authentic Venetian atmosphere. While the property preserves its heritage and classical design, it also provides modern comforts and services expected by today’s travelers.

Guests can choose from six restaurants and bars on site, relax at a heated outdoor swimming pool, or use the gym and treatment rooms. For events and meetings, the hotel offers six meeting spaces and additional event areas with a combined capacity for up to 1,200 guests. Leisure facilities include tennis courts and a driving range, ensuring a varied and complete stay.

Markus Semer, Deputy CEO and Chief Group Development Officer of Kempinski Hotels, commented, “If there is a hotel that suits the Kempinski portfolio, it’s definitely the San Clemente Palace. Among our other grand hotels, this elegant and impressive palace hotel is in excellent company and strengthens our position in Europe.”

Selim Uyar, President of Permak Group, added, “Kempinski is known for a long European hotel tradition and for luxury. I am sure that Kempinski will bring even more to San Clemente Palace. From the next season, guests can expect warm Kempinski service, new and impressive restaurant concepts, and a thoroughly luxurious stay.”

The 190-room property officially reopened as the San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice on March 24, 2016.
