Riviera River Cruises Debuts Luxury New Ship for 2026 Voyages

A new ship and an expanded itinerary are joining Riviera River Cruises on the Douro River in Portugal and Spain for 2024. MS Porto Mirante will operate 10 departures of the Highlights of the Douro Valley and Salamanca river cruise between July and October 2024, joining the existing MS Douro Elegance and MS Douro Splendour.

Measuring 262 feet, MS Porto Mirante features an atrium bar and lounge, a main restaurant, a fitness center, a sun deck with a splash pool and a sky lounge. The ship accommodates 118 passengers in 59 cabins across Diamond, Ruby and Emerald categories. Each cabin includes a convertible double/twin bed, a bathroom with a rain shower, a desk and chair, a flat-screen TV, individual air-conditioning controls, a coffeemaker and other standard amenities.

“Our only itinerary on the Douro River has grown to become one of our most popular cruises, so we’re launching a new ship and a new itinerary to keep up with demand there,” said Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president sales and marketing North America for Riviera River Cruises. “The stylish new MS Porto Mirante will carry guests through the scenic winelands along the river, with excursions led by local experts who provide insights into the destinations we visit. And, as on all our 2024 river cruises, guests will enjoy our new Superior drinks package free of charge.”
