Qatar Airways Introduces Luxurious Qsuite Business-Class Experience

Qatar Airways has introduced its new QSuite business-class product on selected flights from London Heathrow (LHR) as of late June. The carrier began operating a Boeing 777 equipped with the updated suites on the London–Doha (DOH) route starting June 24, and plans to expand the product to additional routes in the coming months.

The airline has announced that Paris (CDG) and New York (JFK) will be among the next routes to receive the QSuite configuration. Qatar Airways is retrofitting its fleet at a steady pace, adding roughly one QSuite-equipped aircraft per month as part of a wider upgrade program designed to enhance its premium offering across long-haul services.

QSuite introduces several notable features aimed at improving comfort, privacy, and flexibility for business-class travelers. Each suite can be configured in multiple ways: individual seats for work or rest, pairs of seats that convert into a double bed, and a quartet of seats that can be combined into a fully enclosed private space. This modular approach allows passengers to tailor their environment during the flight, whether they are traveling alone, as a couple, or in a small group.

The design emphasizes both personal space and social interaction. Passengers seeking solitude can enjoy the privacy and personal storage that individual suites provide, while families or colleagues can join four adjacent suites to create a shared area with a heightened sense of privacy. The ability to form a double bed from two adjacent business-class seats is a distinctive feature that brings a First Class level of sleeping comfort to the Business cabin.

Qatar Airways presented the QSuite at the recent Paris Air Show, where the product drew attention for its combination of innovative seat mechanisms, contemporary finishes, and configurable layouts. The suite’s features reflect a focus on ergonomics and passenger well-being, such as mood lighting, adjustable privacy panels, and surfaces designed for both work and dining.

Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, described QSuite as a step-change for premium travel. He portrayed the product as bringing First Class comforts into Business Class by offering the first-ever double bed in a Business cabin and increasing privacy and versatility for travelers. According to the airline’s leadership, the QSuite underscores a long-term commitment to elevating passenger experience through design innovation and fleet modernization.

For frequent flyers and corporate customers, the rollout of QSuite represents an upgrade in on-board amenities and an opportunity to book more comfortable and private accommodations on high-demand international routes. As more aircraft are retrofitted, a growing number of flights will offer the new seating, allowing passengers across different markets to experience the updated cabin.

Operationally, the phased retrofit program lets Qatar Airways introduce QSuites without disrupting existing schedules. By converting approximately one aircraft each month, the airline balances fleet availability with installation work, training for cabin crew, and certification requirements. This measured approach helps ensure consistent service quality as the new product becomes available on additional routes.

Travelers interested in experiencing QSuite should check specific flight equipment when booking, as not all services on a given route will immediately feature the new suites. Over time, and as the retrofit program progresses, the airline intends to make QSuite available on more long-haul flights, expanding access to the product’s blend of privacy, sleep-enhancing features, and adaptable seating configurations.
