Ranking as the northernmost light festival in the world, Koillismaa in Finland will host the two-week Polar Night Light Festival from January 21 to February 5 at Ruka Fell. Set amid a famously snowy ski-resort landscape, the festival offers visitors the rare chance to experience illuminated installations while skiing, snowshoeing or simply exploring the winter terrain.
The festival is a collaboration between light-and-sound design studio Sun Effects, Rukakeskus and the Ruka-Kuusamo Tourist Association. Sun Effects, known for producing the annual Lux Helsinki event and for its architectural lighting projects, brings extensive experience in large-scale projections and technically sophisticated light-and-sound productions to the Polar Night Light Festival.
