Napa Valley Wine Train Hosts Santa Train for Underserved Children

The Napa Valley Wine Train, one of the few remaining historic passenger railroads still in operation in the United States, has partnered with Sleep Train’s Ticket to Dream Foundation to offer a special holiday experience for local foster children. As part of this collaboration, foster children from the area will be invited to ride the newly redesigned Santa Train free of charge on Saturday, Nov. 19.

The Wine Train is also asking the community to support the effort by donating an unwrapped toy at any Bay Area Sleep Train location. Donors will receive a discount voucher for tickets to ride the new Santa Train, helping spread seasonal cheer while making the event accessible to more families.

“This year’s Santa Train is a completely new experience, and we’re delighted to partner with Sleep Train’s Ticket to Dream Foundation and several deserving Bay Area children’s organizations,” said Pat Colee, chairman and founder of Noble House Hotels & Resorts. “We are proud to share this magical adventure with children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy it.”

The Santa Train delivers a musical, interactive journey to Santa’s Workshop, guided by a few of Santa’s elves. Guests receive light-up wristbands that illuminate the train carriages and create a festive atmosphere. Onboard treats include hot chocolate, cookies, and other seasonal refreshments designed to make the trip feel special for children and families alike.

As part of its outreach, the Wine Train is offering complimentary rides to children from several local organizations, including All Stars Helping Kids, Sonoma Mentor Alliance, Northern Lights School, Ricky Watter Kids, Cope Family Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa, Aim High, United Playaz, and Family Service of Napa Valley. The festive service runs twice daily, seven days a week, from Nov. 19 through Dec. 29. Standard fares start at $55 per person. Before departure, guests will have the opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus to capture the moment.
