As part of its expansion strategy in the United States, MSC Cruises welcomed MSC Divina, one of the company’s most modern ships, back to Miami. The ship will now operate year-round from Miami, offering regular Caribbean itineraries.
MSC Divina spent the summer sailing in the Mediterranean after completing an earlier Caribbean season that ran from November 2013 through April 2015. Her return to Miami is a notable step as MSC Cruises increases its focus on the North American market and strengthens its presence in the region.
“MSC Cruises is executing an ambitious growth plan that includes seven newbuilds, which will expand our geographic reach and double our capacity by 2022,” said Rick Sasso, president of MSC Cruises USA. “We’ve seen strong interest from North American travelers in MSC’s Mediterranean-style cruising experience. Having MSC Divina homeported year-round in Miami — alongside the start of sales for the innovative MSC Seaside — opens a new chapter for MSC Cruises in this market.”
