Luxurious Living on a Budget: Chic Styles That Feel Bougie

After recently being named the World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline by Skytrax, Norwegian has added another honor: Best Budget Bougie Experience in Fodor’s Travel Awards. The inaugural awards from Fodor’s Travel were selected by Fodor’s editorial team of experienced travelers and recognize standout travel experiences across price points.

Norwegian is not new to industry recognition—this marks the budget carrier’s third award this month. With previous distinctions such as Europe’s Leading Low-Cost Airline in the World Travel Awards, Norwegian continues to build a reputation as one of the most decorated low-cost airlines worldwide.

Recent recognitions also include Most Fuel-Efficient Airline on Transatlantic Routes from the International Council on Clean Transportation, Value Airline of the Year from Air Transport World, Favorite Budget Airline from Trazee Travel in 2018, Best Low Cost Carrier Europe at the Passenger Choice Awards, and Airline Loyalty Program of the Year for Europe and Africa at the Freddie Awards. These accolades reflect the airline’s emphasis on efficiency, value and customer loyalty.

In addition to awards, Norwegian has introduced a notable customer benefit: gate-to-gate Wi-Fi on intercontinental flights. The airline is the first low-cost carrier to provide free Wi-Fi on these routes, offering connectivity both on the ground and during flight on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The rollout began earlier this month, and Norwegian plans to equip more than half of its 787-9 Dreamliner fleet with the same free Wi-Fi service by 2020, enhancing in-flight connectivity for long-haul travelers.
