DoubleTree by Hilton has opened its first hotel in New Zealand with the launch of DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown. Previously operating as the Kawarau Hotel, this 98-room property sits in the heart of Kawarau Village, close to Queenstown International Airport and a short drive or water-taxi ride from downtown Queenstown, often called “The Adventure Capital of the World.”
John Greenleaf, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton, said the new opening marks an important milestone for the brand in New Zealand. Guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown can expect the brand’s hallmark warm welcome, including the signature chocolate chip cookie, and a full range of services and amenities designed for comfort and convenience throughout the stay.
The guestrooms feature contemporary décor and many include fully equipped kitchenettes with an oven, microwave and refrigerator so guests can enjoy the comforts of home. Several rooms offer sweeping views of Lake Wakatipu and connect to adjoining lounge areas furnished in a modern alpine style. In addition to the welcome cookie, guests benefit from DoubleTree by Hilton’s curated in-room offerings such as a selection of gourmet teas and coffees and a range of refreshing body care products.
As part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s global portfolio, DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown expands the brand’s presence among more than 380 upscale hotels located in gateway cities, metropolitan centers and vacation destinations across six continents, reinforcing its focus on delivering full-service hospitality in key markets worldwide.
