Jumeirah Expands Luxury Hotels Across Asia

Luxury hotel operator Jumeirah Group is expanding its footprint in China with plans to open three new upscale hotels and resorts. The first, Jumeirah Nanjing, is scheduled to open in 2016. This 250-room property will be located in the new Hexi business district and will feature all-day dining and a Chinese specialty restaurant, a café, lobby and tea lounges, a bar, a junior ballroom, an executive club lounge, a business center, a fitness center, a spa, and an indoor swimming pool.

The second project, Jumeirah Haikou, is expected to welcome guests in 2018. With 140 rooms, this resort will sit within an exclusive golf community on a private island and will offer a similar range of amenities designed for both leisure and business travelers.

Jumeirah Wuhan, planned to open in 2020, will provide around 200 guestrooms and will be situated near the Hankou business district, serving corporate visitors and tourists to the city.

“We are delighted to be expanding our portfolio of hotels and resorts in China, which is a significant market for Jumeirah,” said Gerald Lawless, president and CEO of Jumeirah Group. “We are honored to have been invited to operate these three new hotels in key cities, bringing our pipeline of new properties in China to eight, in addition to Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai, which has been operating successfully since 2011.”

Jumeirah Group currently operates 22 properties worldwide: 11 in the Middle East, six in Europe and five in Asia. The company also has 11 additional hotels under development as it continues to grow its international portfolio.
