IHG Opens Its First Avid Hotel: What Travelers Should Know

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the first Avid Hotels property, introducing the new midscale brand with an 87-guestroom hotel in Oklahoma City-Quail Springs. Avid Hotels targets travelers seeking straightforward, high-quality stays with modern design, consistent guest experiences and a focus on four core elements: an exceptional sleep experience, high-quality breakfasts, up-to-date in-room technology and a satisfaction-guaranteed room experience.

Elie Maalouf, CEO of IHG Americas, said the opening marks an important milestone for the company. Launched less than a year ago, Avid Hotels was developed with input from an owner advisory board, including major investors such as Champion Hotels, to deliver a brand that appeals to both guests and owners. With more than 130 hotel deals signed across the United States, Canada and Mexico, the brand shows strong momentum and is positioned to be a long-term growth driver for IHG in the Americas.

Champ Patel, president of Champion Hotels, noted that his company was involved throughout the brand’s development. He said the IHG team incorporated feedback from the owner advisory board to ensure Avid Hotels would be compelling for owners while offering travelers a reliable, high-quality stay. That confidence in the brand led Champion Hotels to support and open the first Avid property in Oklahoma City.
