Hyatt Opens Luxury Hotel in Southeast Asia’s Tallest Skyscraper

Hyatt has revealed plans for the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, which will occupy the uppermost floors of the PNB 118 tower — a skyscraper set to become the tallest in Southeast Asia and among the tallest globally. Originally scheduled for completion in 2020, the tower will host the Park Hyatt on its top 17 floors, offering panoramic views over Stadium Merdeka.

“We are delighted to collaborate with PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad and to announce the introduction of the Park Hyatt brand in Malaysia,” said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation. “The new Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will provide guests with meaningful and enriching moments as they find themselves surrounded by contemporary luxury and artistry at its best — from original artworks to the finest in culinary expression.”

Park Hyatt is the first hotel brand confirmed for the PNB 118 development. The property will feature 232 guestrooms, including 28 suites, and 30 residential apartments. Guests will have access to more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as public areas designed for relaxation and culture such as galleries and libraries. Dining options will include three on-site restaurants and bars, among them a signature restaurant and a skyline-level dining venue with city views. Wellness and leisure facilities are planned to include a spa with six treatment rooms, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool.

The PNB 118 tower spans more than 3 million square feet and will include a mix of uses beyond the hotel, with extensive office space and a public observation deck. Planned infrastructure improvements aim to enhance connectivity, including a rapid transit station and dedicated vehicular tunnels providing direct tower access.

“The Park Hyatt brand is a leader in luxury hospitality and offers guests a one-of-a-kind experience with highly personalized service; renowned art and design; and exceptional food and beverage programs,” said Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, chairman, PNB Group. “The brand has hotels in iconic cities around the world, and we’re thrilled to welcome the brand to Kuala Lumpur’s PNB 118 tower and to be a part of the brand’s global network.”

Positioned at the top of this landmark tower, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur aims to combine refined design, curated art, and upscale amenities to create a distinctive urban retreat. With sweeping views of the city and a program of dining, wellness, and event spaces, the hotel is designed to cater to both international travelers and local residents seeking premium hospitality experiences within Kuala Lumpur’s evolving skyline.
