Announced March 4, Four Seasons, the Toronto-based international chain of luxury hotels, will open its first property in Spain—Four Seasons Hotel Madrid—inside a mixed-use development by late 2015. Known as the Canalejas Project, the development focuses on restoring and renovating historic buildings close to Madrid’s major landmarks and the city center. The complex will include a 215-room Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, luxury residences managed by Four Seasons, an exclusive shopping center and a 500-space parking garage. Construction on the new properties is scheduled to begin at the end of 2013.
