Fly Houston to Havana with HavanaAir: Flights & Tips

Miami-based HavanaAir Charters will launch weekly nonstop service between Houston International Airport and Havana (HAV), offering a faster, more convenient connection for travelers from U.S. Gulf and West Coast gateway cities to Cuba. HavanaAir is already one of the largest carriers to Cuba, operating 65 monthly flights from Miami (MIA) to Havana, along with additional service to Santa Clara (SNU) and Camagüey (CMW).

Service on the Houston–Havana route will be operated with Eastern Air Lines’ next-generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to operate on Wednesdays beginning in August.

“HavanaAir has worked to deliver exceptional customer service to the island, and our partnership with Eastern brings a new level of comfort and reliability to travel to Cuba through their modern aircraft and professional crew,” said Mark Elias, president and COO of HavanaAir Charters.

This new weekly nonstop will provide travelers from Houston and connecting passengers from western gateway cities with an efficient option for visits to Havana, whether for family, business, or tourism. With the expansion, HavanaAir strengthens its network to Cuba, complementing its existing Miami departures and regional frequencies to Santa Clara and Camagüey.

Passengers can expect services aligned with standard international short-haul operations, including checked baggage allowances, onboard service, and customer support through HavanaAir and Eastern Air Lines’ ground teams. By using modern Boeing 737-800 equipment, the carrier aims to enhance onboard comfort and operational reliability for the new route.

The Wednesday schedule is designed to connect with common domestic flight patterns, enabling travelers from various U.S. cities to reach Havana on a single-day itinerary or with convenient same-day connections. As with all international travel, passengers should verify travel documentation, entry requirements, and any travel restrictions prior to departure.

HavanaAir’s expansion to Houston underscores ongoing demand for point-to-point air service between the United States and Cuba. The weekly frequency aims to balance demand while providing a dependable, direct option for travelers who prefer fewer connections and faster total travel time.
