Visit Florida has introduced a new website feature designed to expand the state’s accessibility resources for travelers with disabilities.
The centerpiece of this initiative is a dedicated accessibility hub on Visit Florida’s site. The hub gathers practical information about disability-accessible attractions, beaches, parks, events and services across the state to help travelers plan with confidence.
“Florida is known for its exhilarating theme parks, serene state parks and beautiful beaches, but what our visitors may not know is that many are accessible to travelers with special needs. We want to take the stress out of planning a Florida vacation and ensure that all travelers know the Sunshine State is a destination that anyone of any ability can enjoy,” said Dana Young, president and CEO of Visit Florida.
Many of Florida’s major theme parks and attractions now publish clear, easy-to-find accessibility details, including accommodations for mobility, hearing and visual needs. These resources help visitors identify which experiences best match their requirements before they arrive.
Beaches across Florida increasingly offer wheelchair-friendly access, with boardwalks, accessible pathways and beach wheelchair rentals at many locations. In addition, numerous state parks feature accessible campsites, trails and playgrounds, opening outdoor recreation to people with a range of mobility needs.
The hub also contains specialized information for travelers and families with children on the autism spectrum. Interactive maps, curated lists and detailed articles highlight sensory-friendly attractions, quiet spaces and tips for a smoother visit, helping families choose destinations that suit the whole group.
By centralizing accessibility information in one place, Visit Florida aims to make trip planning simpler and more reliable for everyone. The hub serves as a single reference where visitors can compare options, learn about available accommodations and discover inclusive experiences throughout the state.
With ongoing updates and contributions from attractions and parks, the hub will continue to grow, reflecting Florida’s commitment to being a welcoming destination for travelers of all abilities.
