Finnair Receives First Airbus A350 XWB Aircraft

Finnair will introduce its first Airbus A350 WXB later this month, the first delivery in an order of 19 aircraft scheduled through 2023. The airline plans to begin commercial service with this aircraft on November 21, operating between Helsinki (HEL) and Shanghai (PVG).

Following the debut flight, Finnair will expand A350 long-haul routes to include Beijing (PEK), Bangkok (BKK), Hong Kong (HKG) and Singapore (SIN). The carrier also intends to operate the A350 on the Helsinki–New York (JFK) route later this year, which will make Finnair the first airline to fly the A350 WXB to the United States.

“We are excited about welcoming the first A350 aircraft into our fleet, and look forward to introducing it to our customers,” said Ville Iho, chief operating officer at Finnair.
