United Airlines is running a limited-time bonus miles promotion that lets MileagePlus members earn significantly more award miles when they travel in the airline’s premium cabins.
Under the offer, for travel completed through Feb. 28, members can earn up to 12,000 bonus award miles per flight segment in addition to the base miles and any other applicable bonus miles. The promotion applies to qualifying long-haul flights, defined as segments of at least 3,000 miles, and to United’s p.s. Premium Service routes between New York JFK and Los Angeles and between New York JFK and San Francisco.
The promotion covers premium-cabin tickets on flights operated by United and United Express, as well as United‑marketed flights operated by participating partner carriers. Eligible partner airlines include Air Canada, ANA, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Copa, Lufthansa and Swiss. Miles from qualifying segments will be posted to the member’s MileagePlus account after the flight is completed.
No advance registration is required to participate. Members who purchase fare classes that qualify as premium cabin travel on the eligible carriers will have the bonus miles automatically applied to their MileagePlus accounts following completion of each eligible flight segment.
This promotion is aimed at rewarding travelers who choose upgraded cabin experiences, giving a substantial boost to award balances for those flying long distances or on the specified transcontinental p.s. routes. As always, travelers should verify that their ticketed fare class is eligible for premium-cabin mileage accrual and that their MileagePlus number is included on the reservation to ensure miles are credited properly.
