Royal Caribbean has introduced its 26th ship, Spectrum of the Seas, the first vessel in the new Quantum Ultra Class. Debuting from Shanghai in June, this unique ship introduces several innovations — including a private suites enclave, new stateroom categories and fresh dining concepts — designed to offer a distinctly modern cruise experience.
The suites-only enclave is a private, keycard-access area reached by a dedicated elevator. Within this exclusive section, suite guests enjoy a reserved restaurant and lounge, boutique shopping and a secluded outdoor sunbathing space, offering enhanced privacy and service.
Families will find the new Ultimate Family Suite particularly notable. This expansive suite sleeps up to 11 guests across three bedrooms and features a kid-friendly play area with an in-suite slide plus a recreation room equipped with karaoke, video game consoles and other entertainment options to keep children and teens engaged.
Dining onboard features both regional and inventive options. Highlights include Sichuan Red, serving authentic Sichuan cuisine; Wonderland’s Dadong; Leaf and Bean, a classic-style tea room; and Star Moment, a newly introduced karaoke venue that complements the ship’s lively nightlife offerings.
For active and adventurous travelers, the upgraded SeaPlex stands out as the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea. The space now hosts expanded activities and new augmented reality experiences, blending physical play with cutting-edge technology for passengers of all ages.
“We are excited to welcome Spectrum of the Seas, our first Quantum Ultra Class ship to the Royal Caribbean family,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “We have once again combined revolutionary ship design with the latest technology to deliver a ship that will redefine the China cruise market. We look forward to seeing guests create unforgettable family memories aboard this ship.”
