Los Angeles-based designer Susan Caruso of Intra-Spec Hospitality Design blended a rich mix of colors, patterns and textures into a sophisticated, welcoming décor at the luxurious Hotel Monaco in historic downtown Denver. The design creates a strong sense of place that honors the city’s mile-high western location with playful, regionally inspired touches. One memorable detail: lobby chairs fitted with stirrups, a motif Caruso calls “Rugged Cowboy Meets City Slicker.” Guests can borrow one of the hotel’s complimentary bikes for a ride around the neighborhood, then return for a pampering treatment at the award-winning VEDA Salon & Spa.
Mornings begin with complimentary Dazbog coffee and tea served in the lobby, setting a relaxed tone. Evenings feature a hosted Wine Hour (5–6 p.m.), and guests can take advantage of chair massages offered in the plush lobby during that time. Solo travelers will appreciate a whimsical perk: upon request, a companion goldfish is provided to keep them company in the room.
The hotel emphasizes hospitality, environmental responsibility and pet-friendly policies, while maintaining a playful spirit throughout the guest experience. Room amenities include thick, comfortable robes with a jungle-cat motif and giraffe-printed robes designed for taller guests, adding a touch of fun and comfort to the stay.
For a limited time through March, the hotel offers the Be Brilliant escape package. The promotion includes deluxe accommodations, two VIP tickets to Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century at the Denver Art Museum (note: the museum is closed on Mondays), a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Reserve Champagne, and an assortment of truffles presented in a red box that echoes Cartier’s signature jewelry packaging. The package is crafted for guests seeking a culturally rich and indulgent weekend in Denver.
