Curio Collection by Hilton Launches First Hotels in Europe

Hilton Worldwide has introduced its Curio – A Collection by Hilton brand to Europe with the addition of two historic properties: the Reichshof Hamburg and Rumeli Han Istanbul. These iconic hotels will join Hilton’s portfolio of upper-upscale and luxury independent hotels after comprehensive renovations.

Originally built in 1910, the Reichshof Hamburg is scheduled to reopen in 2016 following a multimillion-dollar restoration. The property will feature 280 guestrooms and suites along with 11 meeting rooms, blending its historic architecture with modern amenities to meet the expectations of today’s business and leisure travelers.

Rumeli Han Istanbul, located in the heart of the vibrant Beyoğlu district, is slated to open in 2017. The hotel will offer 173 guestrooms across seven floors and a variety of food and beverage options, including a rooftop bar and restaurant that will capitalise on the city’s skyline and cultural energy.

“Europe offers a prime growth opportunity for Curio owing to its concentration of quality independent hotels,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide. He noted that adding Reichshof Hamburg and Rumeli Han Istanbul to the Curio collection allows both properties to preserve their distinctive character while benefiting from Hilton’s commercial reach and global reputation.

The Curio brand had earlier expanded across the Americas with flagship properties in destinations such as Las Vegas, Dallas and Florida. With these new European additions, Hilton aims to continue broadening Curio’s presence in markets rich with historic and independently spirited hotels, offering guests unique stays supported by the scale and standards of a global hospitality company.
