Another independent survey confirms Delta continues to deliver smooth, reliable travel for both leisure and business passengers. In Corporate Travel Manager’s Business Travel News Airline survey, Delta was named the No. 1 U.S. airline for the sixth consecutive year. The carrier topped all 10 survey categories and improved its scores across the board compared with 2015, underscoring a sustained commitment to enhancing every element of the travel experience.
“Each year, we set ‘Win BTN’ as a company-wide goal and all 80,000 Delta people set out to deliver by providing an industry-leading customer experience around the globe,” said Steve Sear, president of international and executive vice president of global sales at Delta.
Respondents to the survey evaluate airlines based on how well they negotiate and maintain preferred programs, the quality of service they deliver, and the overall value they provide. In the survey’s 19-year history, no other carrier has achieved six straight wins, highlighting Delta’s consistent performance in meeting corporate travel needs.
Bob Somers, senior vice president of global sales at Delta, emphasized the role of customer-focused innovation: “Our approach to this business is what differentiates Delta from our competitors, and that innovation is in response to what our customers want to see. We seek feedback from Corporate Travel Managers and business travelers through focus groups, advisory board meetings and call centers, among other channels. Then we listen, act and listen again, building our business around their needs.”
Beyond high marks for customer service, Delta was recognized for operating with minimal cancellations and for rolling out practical, technology-driven solutions. Notable examples include the Operational Excellence Calculator, which helps quantify the cost and time savings of flying Delta, and the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for improved baggage tracking. The airline has also developed advanced tools that provide real-time updates about turbulence and other operational conditions, helping travelers and corporate planners manage disruptions more effectively.
These combined strengths—consistent service quality, proactive customer engagement, and targeted technology investments—contribute to Delta’s strong reputation among corporate travel decision-makers. The repeated survey successes reflect both operational reliability and a continued emphasis on listening to customers to shape product and service improvements.
