COMO Shambhala Estate Bali Reopens After Luxury Renovation

COMO Shambhala Estate has revealed refreshed accommodations and an expanded wellness center. Nestled on 22 acres in Bali where two rivers meet, the award-winning retreat is celebrated for its distinctive approach to wellbeing and its serene jungle setting.

The Estate’s recent updates focus on two of its five signature residences: Bayugita Residence and Wanakasa Residence. The renovations draw on the surrounding landscape and local materials to enhance the sense of calm and connection to nature while preserving the property’s original spirit.

“The Estate’s location resonates differently to any other place I know,” said Christina Ong, founder of COMO Group. “It has a healing heritage that’s been here for thousands of years, revolving around the sacred spring and the energy of the flowing river. All I needed to do was honor that knowledge, working with designers and architects — including Cheong Yew Kwan, who still lives on site — who know and respect the energy lines already in place.”

Alongside the accommodation updates, the wellness facilities have been broadened with several new offerings. Highlights include a dedicated space for Ayurvedic therapies, contrast therapy suites, hyperbaric oxygen treatment, and an expanded hydrotherapy area that features Watsu bodywork sessions. These additions complement the Estate’s existing holistic programs and support a range of restorative needs.

Daily, complimentary wellness experiences remain a core part of the guest offering. These include sunrise yoga, guided jungle stretch classes and traditional Balinese purification rituals, all designed to help visitors begin each day with clarity and balance.

To mark the renovations, the Estate has introduced a selection of focused one- and two-day wellness programs aimed at specific goals such as relaxation, detoxification or stress reduction. For guests seeking a deeper reset, the new COMO Shambhala Signature Retreats provide six-night immersive journeys led by the property’s resident wellness practitioners. These retreats combine curated activities, nourishing cuisine, practical workshops and tailored treatments to create an integrated wellbeing experience.

With design choices that respect the site’s cultural and natural context and expanded therapeutic options, the updated COMO Shambhala Estate continues to position itself as a destination for intentional, restorative travel in Bali.
