Champagne, Oysters & Spring Ski Training at Sunshine Village

There is still abundant snow in Alberta, Canada, and the country’s largest ski destination — Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine Village — is preparing to host Canada’s national ski teams as they begin training for the Sochi 2014 Olympics. To help athletes prepare, sections of slopes and runs at the resorts have been modified to mirror the technical challenges of an Olympic course.

Visitors who are not part of the training can enjoy a newly opened Veuve Clicquot champagne and oyster bar. The pop-up bar operates each weekend through May 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the spring terrace of the popular Mad Trappers Saloon. As an added perk, the champagne bar’s hours coincide with Sunshine Village’s Spring Concert Series, offering live music alongside the seasonal terrace experience.
