American Express is opening a new LAX Centurion Lounge, the 12th location in its Centurion Lounge network. The company finalized the agreement to build the lounge in April. It will sit airside in the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and will be accessible from Terminals 4 through 8.
The lounge is scheduled to open in 2019 and is designed to help travelers rest and recharge. It will feature a tranquility area with both bright and dimly lit zones to assist guests in adjusting to new time zones, plus a spa and a family room. The space will also showcase brand-specific touches, including a curated wall installation that reflects the Centurion aesthetic.
Dining and beverage offerings are a focus. Chef-crafted menus will be available, and sommelier Anthony Giglio and mixologist Jim Meehan collaborated on a selection of premium wines and signature cocktails tailored to the lounge’s menu and atmosphere.
For business travelers, the lounge will provide a range of work-friendly amenities: high-speed internet, ample power outlets and private, noise-buffering stations for focused work or calls. On-site American Express Member Services Professionals will be available to assist guests with card- and travel-related questions and services.
American Express is also expanding its Centurion Lounge footprint with additional locations planned for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Denver International Airport next year. The brand recently extended its reach in Asia, opening its first Hong Kong International Airport Centurion Lounge in October.
“Our Platinum Card Members regularly travel for work and fun, so we’re excited to soon offer our Platinum Card Members a place to relax, reboot and refresh in the busiest terminal at LAX,” said Josh McKay, vice president and general manager of global benefits and services at American Express.
Access to the lounge is complimentary for Platinum Card and Centurion members. Each eligible member may bring up to two travel companions at no extra charge; Centurion members can bring immediate family members under the same policy. Additional guest access for Platinum Card or Centurion members will be available for purchase at $50 per person.
