Central Park Perk: Cozy Coffee Shop & Brunch Near Midtown

Think you know Central Park? Think again. Starting March 1, the Central Park Conservancy launches a curated lineup of tours highlighting the history, landscape design, and horticulture of New York’s premier urban park.

These Official Central Park Tours are created and led by the Conservancy—the nonprofit that has spent more than three decades restoring and maintaining the park. The Conservancy’s intimate knowledge of Central Park ensures each tour delivers accurate, engaging insights into this 843-acre landmark. Available options include:

  • Welcome Tours: Free, 45-minute walks that begin at the park’s perimeter and provide an accessible overview of Central Park’s history and original design principles.
  • Premier Tours: Ninety-minute guided experiences (tickets starting at $15) that take a deeper look at particular themes—such as landscape design, historical moments, and ecological features—offering an insider’s perspective on the park.
  • Custom Tours: Tailored itineraries created by Conservancy experts for small groups who want to focus on specific interests. Pricing starts at $150. Van tours are available for groups up to six people.

In addition to guided options, the Conservancy provides a selection of self-guided tours that can be downloaded and printed or accessed on most smartphones, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-time local, these tours offer fresh ways to experience Central Park’s landscapes, architecture, gardens, and stories.
