Carnival Magic Unveils Multimillion-Dollar Renovation and Upgrades

Carnival Magic will begin sailing from Port Canaveral, Fla., in April, moving from its current homeport in Galveston, Texas. To prepare for the relocation, the vessel will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation that introduces a range of new dining and drinking venues, updated public spaces, and enhanced guest amenities.

Among the new options will be Guy’s Burger Joint, a poolside burger venue created by Food Network personality Guy Fieri that focuses on casual, made-to-order burgers; RedFrog Rum Bar, a Caribbean-inspired poolside rum bar designed for relaxed, tropical-style drinks; BlueIguana Tequila Bar, a Mexican-themed poolside bar offering tequila-based cocktails; and Pizzeria del Capitano, serving five varieties of artisanal pizza around the clock. The ship will also add the Alchemy Bar, a vintage-style cocktail lounge where bartenders craft unique, made-to-order drinks.

These additions complement Carnival Magic’s existing features, which already include the Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant, the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub, and the outdoor SportSquare recreation area. The refurbishment expands the ship’s dining and nightlife lineup to give guests more variety across price points and atmospheres, from casual poolside bites to specialty cocktail experiences and late-night pizza.

“Carnival Magic is already a groundbreaking ship — it was the first to feature our popular Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant, the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub and SportSquare outdoor recreation facility — and with these new features we’re making this spectacular floating resort even better,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Following this extensive refurbishment, Carnival Magic will offer even more exciting onboard choices for travel agents to market to their clients.”

The renovation aims to modernize guest areas and enhance onboard entertainment and dining options before the ship’s debut from Port Canaveral. Travelers can expect an upgraded experience that combines Carnival’s signature casual fun with new specialty venues that reflect contemporary food and beverage trends. The added outlets provide a mix of family-friendly and adult-oriented spaces so guests of all ages can find something to enjoy throughout their voyage.

With these updates, Carnival Magic will present a refreshed itinerary of onboard amenities designed to appeal to both returning Carnival passengers and new cruisers exploring options from Port Canaveral. The investment underscores the line’s focus on evolving its fleet to meet changing guest preferences while maintaining popular staples that have defined the guest experience on this class of ship.
