Carnival Corp. has launched a dedicated digital streaming channel to broaden the cruising audience, making original and existing series available on platforms such as Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku.
The channel features established shows like Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin, Vacation Creation and Good Spirits, programs that have previously aired on networks including ABC, The CW and NBC.
Alongside those titles, Carnival introduced two new digital series: GO, which follows artist Trek Thunder Kelley on his travels, and Local Eyes, where host Anji Corley engages with local residents in various destinations.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of cruising as an appealing vacation option by showcasing destinations, onboard experiences and the cultural connections travelers can make while sailing.
This move represents a notable first for the cruise industry and a unique approach within the broader travel sector, using original streaming content as part of advertising, sales and marketing efforts.
Complementing the streaming content, Carnival also released two mobile gaming apps on the App Store and Google Play. PlayOcean Everywhere and PlayOcean Casino let users enjoy free casino-style games on land, with the option to play for a fee when aboard a Carnival ship.
