Marriott International’s Autograph Collection has made its debut in Turkey with the opening of Sofa Hotel Istanbul. The 82-room hotel is situated in the historic Nişantaşı shopping district, a central and fashionable neighborhood in Istanbul known for its boutiques, galleries and cafés.
Designed by acclaimed Turkish architect Hakan Kıran, the hotel blends contemporary design with local character. Interiors feature custom furniture, bespoke artwork and modern lighting. The color scheme centers on neutral greys warmed by deep red, mustard and copper accents. Of the 82 rooms, five are suites and several offer private terraces or balconies. Each room includes a spacious marble bathroom equipped with a standing shower and a soaking tub.
Dining options within the hotel are varied and accessible. Sofie Restaurant operates around the clock, serving an elevated breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. On the rooftop, Frankie Istanbul offers a Mediterranean-fusion menu paired with panoramic city views, making it a destination for both guests and local visitors.
The Green Spa provides an extensive program of treatments and wellness services, including traditional Turkish hammams. Its signature offering is a classic Turkish scrub rooted in Ottoman-era ritual, presented alongside contemporary spa therapies to create a restorative experience.
As the Autograph Collection’s first property in Turkey, Sofa Hotel Istanbul emphasizes individuality and cultural connection. The hotel is an official sponsor of Istanbul’s Contemporary Art Fair and integrates art into its public and guest spaces, displaying works by local and international artists throughout the building.
“As Autograph Collection Hotels’ first property in Turkey, Sofa Hotel Istanbul proudly exemplifies our commitment to providing guests with exactly like nothing else experiences,” said John Licence, vice president, premium and select brands, Europe, Marriott International. The hotel’s focus on design, art and local heritage aims to offer visitors an authentic and memorable stay in one of Istanbul’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
