British Airways Expands In-Flight Entertainment Options

British Airways is upgrading the passenger experience on 18 selected Boeing 747 aircraft with a comprehensive cabin refresh. Starting in August 2015, the work will include installation of Panasonic’s next-generation eX3 in-flight entertainment system, new carpets, curtains and improved seat foams to deliver a more comfortable and modern journey.

The eX3 system will feature larger, higher-resolution screens that support touch and swipe gestures and will offer an extensive selection of content, including more than 130 movies and around 400 TV programmes. In addition, World Traveller Plus customers will benefit from a universal power socket at every seat, designed to accept plugs from the United Kingdom, the United States and continental Europe, making it easier to stay powered throughout the flight.

“Our customers love our new aircraft, and we wanted to refresh the 747s in line with them as we know the aircraft has a special place in the heart of many of our customers,” said Kathryn Doyle, aircraft cabin interiors manager, British Airways. “These aircraft will get some well deserved TLC and the improvements will be really noticeable to our frequent fliers.”
